Hey Y’all, I’m Ashley

I’m a native Houstonian, a working mom, and a woman who believes that getting healthy doesn’t have to mean doing the most. Around here, we keep things simple, real, and sustainable — because real life is busy enough.

I share food, lifestyle, and mindset tools that helped me lose over 95 pounds, reduce inflammation, and rebuild trust with my body — not through trends or perfection, but by getting back to basics.

Get Started

Why This Matters to Me

My health journey didn’t start because I wanted to be smaller.

It started because my son looked at me one day and said he wanted me to be healthy. He wanted me to be able to ride all the rides with him at the amusement park. He wanted me to be fit enough to work out alongside him.

That conversation stopped me in my tracks.

I had already watched my father pass away far too young — at just 67 years old — after battling frontotemporal dementia. Knowing what we now understand about metabolic health and what’s often referred to as type 3 diabetes, I knew I didn’t want to spend my later years sick, limited, or unable to fully show up for my family.

I wanted strength.
I wanted longevity.
I wanted to be present.

That was the moment I decided to take my health seriously — not temporarily, but for the long haul.

The Medical Wake-Up Call

I am also BRCA1 positive.

At 27 years old, while pregnant with my second child, a spot found by my oncologist prompted me to evaluate prophylactic surgery. It accelerated my decision to have a series of preventative surgeries at MD Anderson to reduce my risk of breast and ovarian cancer. At the age of 30 I had a double mastectomy with a TRAM reconstruction and at the age of 32 I had my ovaries removed. What followed was something I hadn’t anticipated: medical menopause, intense inflammation, and weight gain that felt completely out of my control.

I had worked my whole life at losing weight, so I started cardio, yoga, and calorie restriction - but nothing budged. If anything I held onto the weight more aggressively I was doing what I thought I was “supposed” to do — and my body was still struggling.

That season taught me something important: doing everything “right” doesn’t always mean doing what works for you.

Finding Simplicity (and Carnivore)

In 2022, God placed the right person in my life at exactly the right time.

While onboarding at a new job, I met my dear friend Laura Spath — an OG carnivore who shared a completely different perspective on food. Not rules. Not restriction. Just simplicity.

That conversation changed my life.

By stripping food down to the basics — prioritizing protein, removing noise, and letting my body heal — everything began to shift. My inflammation improved. The weight came off. My energy returned. And for the first time in a long time, food felt calm instead of stressful.

I’ll always be grateful for Laura and for the role she played in helping me see that simple, consistent choices can be powerful.

What I Believe Now

I don’t believe in hacks.
I don’t believe in extremes.
And I don’t believe you need to suffer to be healthy.

I believe:

  • Simple done consistently beats complicated done occasionally

  • Food should support your life — not consume it

  • Structure creates freedom

  • Health is about legacy, not just weight

That’s why everything I share is built around an old-school, back-to-basics approach that works in real life — for moms, for families, and for women who are done starting over.

A Little More About Me

I’m a full-time mom and career woman.
I love Jesus, my family, the beach, and a daily Diet Sunkist.
I believe laughter belongs in health journeys.
And I’m here to help you simplify — not overwhelm.

If you’re ready to stop chasing trends and start building something sustainable, you’re in the right place.
